Go Deep

It's been a long time since I’ve seen you It's bringing back our yesterdays We're different people but it feels so new Let's take a chance and find our way All we need is some more time to find the best of who we are All I want right now is you the one that got away Take my hand, let’s take a spin, it might a bumpy ride Don’t bother asking where we're going It's so clear, you are the one, you always seemed to get me I want this time to last forever All we need is some more time to find the best of who we are All I want right now is you the one that got away It's so good when we're together So how'd we ever drift apart We found a new life that was better But there's a big hole in my heart We should’ve ended up in paradise It took us all these years to realize All we need is some more time to find the best of who we are All I want right now is you the one that got away All we need is some more time (the one that got away) All we need is some more time (the one that got away) All we need is some more time (the one that got away) with the one that got away

Our love had started out so innocent The best of times that’s ever been Making sweet love every day and every night Time passed now something isn’t right I hear you say that I’m inflexible I know I’ve gained a little weight You want to try new things when I’m averse to change (I know what I like) Old habits die hard or they break But if you leave me I would die I can’t remember when your feelings changed You got so distant over time I’ve tried so hard to give you everything you want I feel alone and boys don’t cry I feel you drifting somewhere far away I know there’s things you’ll probably never say It breaks my heart to think you’ll soon be out of sight I wish you’d tell me I was right ‘Cuz if you leave me I would die ‘Cuz if you leave me I would die I feel you drifting somewhere far away I know there’s things you’ll probably never say It breaks my heart to think you’ll soon be out of sight I wish you’d tell me I was right ‘Cuz if you leave me I would die ‘Cuz if you leave me I would die ‘Cuz if you leave me I would die

Next to Me 03:04
You been the only one for me I was so blind, you made me see Sing along in harmony When you are next to me Peanut butter to my jam Feel alive just holding hands Please tell me I’m your man When you are next to me I’m in the zone I love you so I feel at home When you are next to me I’ll take a stand I’ll take command I’ll be your man when you are next to me You’re the one that made me see Mary Jane to my Spidey Don’t ever set me free when you are next to me When I watch you coming home I always hope that you’re alone The truth I’ve always known is when you are next to me I’m in the zone I love you so I feel at home When you are next to me I’ll take a stand I’ll take command I’ll be your man when you are next to me You are my soul I lose control My peace is whole when you are next to me I can’t let go I need you so Please never go when you are next to me

You won't find him in the morning bright on the screen of your TV And he won't help you in the evening to buy you everything you see You won't find him giving you love behind the eyes of your new pet You won't find him in computers the ghost behind your Internet But if you look around the corner and stand to face your very soul You'll find the words in your reflection Of stories you've already told... Beware of God You won't find him in a steeple Forgiving you for all your sins You won't find him in your lover your brother, or your next of kin But if you look around the corner and stand to face your very soul You'll find the words in your reflection Of stories you've already told... He won't help you make a million when there is so much suffering You won't find him at a rock show So pay attention when we sing...

Keanu Reeves 03:51
A normal dude who seems immortal I saw him first in River’s Edge BFFs with Crispin Glover He talked his little bro off the ledge He shot to fame back in the ‘90s In Bill and Ted and Idaho Infiltrated a surf gang led by Pat Swayze He had him cuffed, but let him go He prolly drowned, but we don’t know I wanna be like Keanu Reeves  (fly, fight) so cool in any situation His roles and range keep getting better A body of work to heal all nations I thought that Speed was entertaining But it couldn’t compare to what came next When Neo battled the computers The original Matrix is still the best Bullet time just made you stronger You even nailed it as Klaatu But you really brought it when you played John Wick Always giving back to your whole crew Even in real life, you know what to do

Loneliness 03:40
When you left / I never made another compromise Broke apart / both of us just wanted separate lives No regrets / everything I did, I did for you Here’s the thing / I never thought I’d be here missing you Loneliness / living with my shadow for so long Far away / how I’ve felt forever since you gone I’m OK / What I tell myself when you’re away Anything / What I’d do to get you back and stay After you / I found another way to live my life Born again / free to be myself and hit my stride Now I’m lost / I blame you for the wreck that I’ve become Torn apart / missing who I was when we were one Loneliness / living with my shadow for so long Far away / how I’ve felt forever since you gone I’m OK / What I tell myself when you’re away Anything / What I’d do to get you back and stay I never meant to let you go I never shoulda let us drift apart I miss you more than you will ever know I never told you that you broke my heart Loneliness / living with my shadow for so long Far away / how I’ve felt forever since you gone I’m OK / What I tell myself when you’re away Anything / What I’d do to get you back and stay Loneliness Loneliness Loneliness What I’d do to get you back and stay

Forgot about the day we met Forgot you’d always be the best that I could get Forgot about the night you left Forgot about the times that we said we’d never forget Now here we are in lost and found It’s been so long but now we’re homeward bound We lost some time, I’m not sure when I never thought that I would / see you again We played the game but quit too soon We never found the one ‘cause it was always me and you Now that we’re here where should we go? We’ll find our way to things that we / couldn’t know Go on and tell me how you been I’ll keep you in my sights and I won’t let go again Now here we are in lost and found It’s been so long but now we’re homeward bound We lost some time, I’m not sure when I never thought that I would / see you again We played the game but quit too soon We never found the one ‘cause it was always me and you Now here we are in lost and found It’s been so long but now we’re homeward bound We lost some time, I’m not sure when I never thought that I would / see you again We played the game but quit too soon We never found the one ‘cause it was always me and you I felt so lost but now I’m found I felt so lost but now I’m found I felt so lost but now I’m found I felt so lost but now I’m found

Acts of God 03:19
What the hell is going on The sky is gray and I found ashes on my car Everything I knew is gone Heard sirens in the night but now they sound so far Who’s gonna save us from the fires The trees are black and all the roads have burned away Please drive around the fallen wires I’m getting tired and I don’t know where we’ll stay The flames were right outside our door I grabbed the silverware and photos off the wall I couldn’t carry anymore Don’t worry I won’t let the neighbors take it all Who’s gonna save us from the fires The trees are black and all the roads have burned away Please drive around the fallen wires I’m getting tired and I don’t know where we’ll stay I could blame the politicians We could call it acts of god Somebody better have an answer ‘Cause everything I knew is gone Who’s gonna save us from the fires The trees are black and all the roads have burned away Please drive around the fallen wires I’m getting tired but I don’t know where we’ll stay I’m getting tired but I don’t know where we’ll stay I’m getting tired but I don’t know where we’ll stay I’m getting tired but I don’t know where we’ll stay

I been called a loner I live with my mother, too And though I'm not dying I find myself crying over my life I don't have a girl I usually take the bus At minimum wage I pocket my change and save for a Bug Oh God in Heaven strike me down before I take a life Help me understand be a man and generally be all right Cos I don't want to be no incontinent lonely old man Sitting home, in a dome waiting for my time to go I think of my future Between the good reruns And I often wonder what kind of a blunder my parents made

Cowboy Life 03:38
Well the sun went down on our way of life Big-city living With its smoggy skies No time to think No time to dream And the days get busier I wonder what it means I wanna cowboy life with my frontier wife I wanna place to settle down and build a night campfire I wanna see you smile I wanna rest a while I want the stream to wash away The memories and miles Let’s pack our bags It’s time to say goodbye We’re heading down that dusty road To find a clear blue sky We’ll find a plot of land We’ll stake a modest claim And this I promise you We’ll never the same It’s getting harder every night to see the stars I never knew the life we chose could be this hard I wonder where we find the answers Wonder where we’re free to roam I wonder where on god’s green earth it feels like home I wanna cowboy life with my frontier wife I wanna place to settle down and build a night campfire I wanna see you smile I wanna rest a while I want the stream to wash away The memories and miles We built the cabin of our dreams Looked up at skies we’d never seen We found the time and space to finally find our way It’s led me back to you today… I wanna cowboy life with my frontier wife I wanna place to settle down and build a night campfire I wanna see you smile I wanna rest a while I want the stream to wash away The memories and miles

about

GO DEEP is the third entry in what I call my “California Trilogy,” my third LP release in three years, all inspired by life on the West Coast. My previous two releases, IN BETWEEN THE SPACES (2017) and LOST ANGELES (2018), made numerous “Best of” lists both years and continue to enjoy airplay all over the world.

GO DEEP is my most ambitious collection of original, hard-hitting power pop and rock to date. Three tracks were produced by top Bay Area producer, Scott Llamas—who also mastered all tracks—with the others produced and mixed by me.

The CD of this record is also available on Kool Kat Records, and comes with a free CD copy of 10 COVERS, also available here on Bandcamp. You can get those two CDs from Kool Kat here:
