Car Crash

from Sea Change by Richard Turgeon

/

about

I wrote this song back in the mid-‘90s and it’s been a favorite of mine ever since, playing it at all my live shows on the east and west coasts.

It’s about that person you really care about, maybe love, who’s kind of a train wreck. And having to decide if you want to be along for the ride when they crash.

Hope you dig it!

lyrics

I see you walk around alone
She's that girl without a home
She fills it up with love and fear
She'll always find a home in here

All the parts are cast
This role could be her last
I'll wait while you're backstage
And hope that you don't change

I'll say goodbye that day

Falling down and falling fast
I think about how long you'll last
You've never known just who you are
Your cuts on me are leaving scars

All the parts are cast
This role could be her last
I'll wait while you're backstage
And hope that you don't change

I'll say goodbye that day

With second highs and desperate lows
You're telling me more than you know
Stuck with your insanity
If you go down, it might be with me

All the parts are cast
This role could be her last
I'll wait while you're backstage
And hope that you don't change
