Lonely Old Man

from Go Deep by Richard Turgeon

/

about

I originally recorded this song with my band The Movies about 20 years ago. Love the original, but thought it was the right time for a reboot. Enjoy.

lyrics

I been called a loner
I live with my mother, too
And though I'm not dying
I find myself crying
over my life

I don't have a girl
I usually take the bus
At minimum wage
I pocket my change
and save for a Bug

Oh God in Heaven strike me down
before I take a life

Help me understand
be a man
and generally be all right

Cos I don't want to be no incontinent lonely old man
Sitting home, in a dome
waiting for my time to go

I think of my future
Between the good reruns
And I often wonder
what kind of a blunder
my parents made
