Waiting for You

from Lost Angeles by Richard Turgeon

This song is the culmination of the sound I've been working on for a very long time, accelerated by the release of my new LP, In Between the Spaces. I was going for something that combined my love of alt-rock, pop, and in this one, a dash of emo. For me, it captures the pain, confusion, anger, fear, and sadness that comes with a fight or a breakup—and that limbo period when you don't know whether it's temporary or permanent. It's also a "I screwed up" song, which is a rock archetype of sorts. I hope you like it.

I see the sadness in your eyes
I know you see right through my lies
You may have said your last goodbye

Now it's easy to see
All our trouble is me
And I finally know why
I'm waiting for you

I said the wrong things once again
You've been left wondering where I've been… again
I thought you'd come back as you have

You've always been there when I fall
You've always answered when I call
You've waited for me and now I'm....

...waiting for you...
